In ancient England, people could not have sex without the consent of the King.

When people wanted to have a child, they have to get the permission from the monarchy. When granted, they would be supplied with a plaque to hang on their door when they had sexual relations.

The plaque reads 'Fornication Under Consent of the King' (F.U.C.K.). This is how the word came about.
